Leeway School is a non-profit school that has been in existence for over 40 years and serves special needs, developmentally delayed and typical developing children from 3 to 5 years of age.
As a 1:1 Teacher's Aide you will provide ongoing care to one child in our school setting by assisting the teacher with implementing the education program, assisting the child with tasks such as (but not limited to) hygiene (toileting and during meal times ), shadowing the child at all times in the classroom and out on the playground.
Qualifications for the position are:
- High School Diploma preferred
- Experience working with children in a classroom or childcare environment preferred.
- Experience working with children with special needs is preferred.
- Must have the ability to supervise children in a variety of educational settings including, but not limited to, self-contained, integrated, and off-site.
- Must shadow the child at all times.
- Must be at least 18 years of age to supervise children independently.
- Must be physically able to handle all aspects of the supervision of the day-to-day activities of preschoolers which may include, but not limited to, running, bending, lifting up to 45 lbs.
Schedule will be M-F 9:00am to 3:30pm.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.50 - $21.00 per hour
