Duties
- Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and executing personalized care plans for patients across inpatient, outpatient, home health, and skilled nursing facility settings.
- Implement therapeutic interventions such as trigger point therapy, manual therapy techniques, and modalities to alleviate pain and improve function.
- Support patient care by monitoring progress, providing education on exercises, and ensuring proper use of assistive devices.
- Conduct assessments related to physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology to inform treatment strategies.
- Participate in discharge planning processes by preparing patients for transition to home or other care environments.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient treatments, progress notes, and care plans in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care delivery for patients with orthopedic, geriatric, pediatric, or acute care needs.
Experience
- Previous experience working as a Physical Therapist Assistant in outpatient clinics, inpatient units, or skilled nursing facilities is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of physiotherapy techniques including trigger point therapy and modalities used in acute care or geriatrics.
- Familiarity with home health environments and discharge planning processes is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and care plan development.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations such as pediatrics or geriatrics enhances your ability to adapt treatment approaches effectively.
- Skilled at providing compassionate patient care while supporting rehabilitation goals through evidence-based practices.
