We are launching a brand-new Family Matters office in the East Bay, and we are looking for a founding Recruiter / Staffing Manager to help us build it. The single biggest determinant of whether this office succeeds is the quality of the caregivers that we hire and onboard. We are looking for someone who is already embedded in caregiver networks across Contra Costa and Alameda counties and can start recruiting on day one.
What You'll Do
Caregiver Recruiting & Onboarding
- Own the full caregiver recruiting pipeline; sourcing, screening, interviewing, and hiring
- Leverage existing relationships within local caregiver networks in Contra Costa and Alameda counties to quickly build a strong bench
- Manage job listings across all relevant platforms (Indeed, Facebook groups, community boards, partner referrals)
- Conduct caregiver onboarding including orientation, skills training scheduling, and required documentation
Scheduling & Staffing
- Manage day-to-day caregiver scheduling, matching caregivers to clients based on skills, availability, and personality fit
- Maintain high fill rates and minimize open shifts through proactive staffing and bench management
- Handle shift changes, call-outs, and last-minute coverage with urgency and good judgment
- Maintain accurate caregiver availability records and preferences in the scheduling system
- Participate in the on-call rotation for after-hours scheduling issues
Compensation
- Based on level of experience
- Full-time with benefits
What We're Looking For
- At least 2-3 years of experience in caregiver recruiting, home care scheduling, or a closely related staffing or operations role
- Strong understanding of the home care labor market and what motivates caregivers in the East Bay region
- Experience using scheduling or workforce management software (e.g., WellSky or similar)
- Highly organized with the ability to manage a high volume of moving parts simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills and a genuine ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds
- Flexibility for evenings and weekends on-call as part of the team rotation
- Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and auto insurance
- Able to pass a Department of Justice background check
Strongly Preferred
- Existing relationships in the East Bay caregiver community
- Bilingual (Spanish or Tagalog) given regional caregiver demographics
Ideal Traits
- Deeply connected in the local caregiver community and known as a trusted resource
- Energized by problem-solving and find satisfaction in filling hard shifts and building a reliable team
- Resilient and calm under pressure
- Highly responsive and takes strong personal ownership of outcomes
Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
