Job Summary
For 80 years, Kolbe Windows & Doors has been dedicated to crafting high-quality, beautifully designed windows and doors that transform spaces. We are currently seeking a full-time carpenter to complete project work on all Kolbe-owned properties.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Perform construction, remodeling, and maintenance projects for offices, break rooms, closets, rental properties, outbuildings, and other company facilities.
2. Complete carpentry, framing, drywall installation and finishing, basic electrical work, window and door installation, trim work, ceilings, and interior finishes.
3. Perform concrete and masonry work including forming, pouring, repairing, sealing floors, sidewalks, block, and brickwork.
4. Install and maintain roofing, siding, fencing, decks, planters, flooring, ceilings, and related building components.
5. Support building maintenance activities including roof repairs, fire doors, exit doors, windows, painting, staining, and general facility upkeep.
6. Estimate labor and material requirements, complete work orders and purchase requisitions, and maintain project documentation.
7. Operate ladders, scaffolding, lifts, and construction equipment safely while following all company safety procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Minimum three years of experience in construction, building maintenance, or related trade.
2. Ability to read blueprints, specifications, and tape measures.
3. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
4. Working knowledge of construction methods, building codes, and structural practices.
5. Ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and communicate effectively.
6. Ability to work in various weather conditions, on elevated surfaces, and extended hours when required.
7. Valid Wisconsin driver's license.
8. Ability to obtain and maintain knowledge of workplace chemicals and safety requirements.
KNOWLEDGE IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS IS A PLUS:
1. Plumbing, HVAC, and basic electrical work
2. Ceramic tile, hardwood flooring, paneling, insulation, and drop ceilings
3. Roofing, siding, and pole building construction
4. Deck construction, retaining walls, pavers, and landscaping structures
5. Garage doors and operators
6. Sheet metal fabrication and brake operation
7. Transit, laser, and construction layout equipment
