Samaritan Behavioral Center, an accredited psychiatric hospital, providing high levels of psychiatric care to adult patients and committed to person focused care, is looking for a Recreational Therapist Supervisor.
The Recreational Therapist Supervisor is responsible for the provision of Activity Therapy services, including assessment, treatment planning, therapeutic activity interventions and discharge leisure planning. The Recreational Therapist Supervisor utilizes individual and/or group activity interventions to bring about positive changes in the patient’s behavior, such as cognitive, social, emotional, or physical. The therapist educates the client in healthy coping skills, and available leisure resources to continue the client in post-discharge leisure planning and involvement. The therapist will be responsible for the provision of services according to the current standards of practice. The Recreational Therapist Supervisor has the supervisory position of lead therapist as well as coordinating all aspects of the Activity Therapy department under the direction of the Director of Clinical Programs.
