Job Overview
The Homeowner Services Coordinator provides housing counseling, financial education, and mortgage down payment coordination services to future homebuyers. This position supports clients throughout the homebuying process by providing budgeting, credit, and homeownership guidance while ensuring compliance with HUD guidelines and organizational policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Counsel clients on budgeting, credit improvement, debt reduction, and homeownership readiness.
- Develop client action plans and provide ongoing support throughout the homebuying process.
- Coordinate mortgage down payment activities and maintain required client documentation.
- Monitor applications and work closely with loan officers, processors, underwriters, and closing agents.
- Assist clients with homeowners insurance, closing preparation, and final walkthrough scheduling.
- Maintain accurate client records and ensure compliance with HUD and lending requirements.
- Support financial education classes, post-purchase education, and special program initiatives.
- Provide excellent customer service through timely communication and follow-up with clients and applicants.
Qualifications
- HUD Certified Housing Counselor required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Qualified Loan Originator (QLO) certification through Habitat for Humanity International.
- Experience in housing counseling, mortgage lending, financial services, or related field preferred.
- Knowledge of mortgage products, down payment assistance programs, and financial documentation.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficient in standard office software and documentation systems.
- Commitment to confidentiality, compliance, and exceptional customer service.
Education & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License required.
- Full-time benefit-eligible position.
- Reports to: Affiliate Vice President.
