Aya Healthcare has an opportunity for an experienced Medical Staff Coordinator to support an 13-week contract assignment with a facility located Reno, NV.
Assignment Details:
- Start: ASAP
- Schedule: Onsite, Mon–Fri, 8am to 5pm Pacific Standard Time (PST),
- Pay: $22-25/hour
- Length: 13 weeks (Eligible for extension, depending on future facility needs).
- Onboarding: 1-2 weeks
Required Qualifications for Medical Staff Credentialing Coordinator:
- (PAVE) Provider Application and Validation Enrollment system experience
- Minimum of two (2) Medical Staff Services and/or Managed Care experience
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience performing the duties associated with Medical Staff Services
- Experience supporting senior-level and executive leadership
- Knowledge of medical terminology
NOTE: Candidates without PAVE experience will not qualify for this position
Summary of Medical Staff Coordinator:
The Medical Staff Coordinator serves as a resource for the Medical Staffs of the facility, and it's affiliated offices. This position provides administrative and operational support to Medical Staff leadership responsible for oversight of quality of care, treatment, and services delivered by practitioners. Credentialing responsibilities are required across all supported positions for physicians and allied health professionals privileged through the Medical Staff process.
Job Duties of Medical Staff Coordinator:
- Generating and maintaining credentialing and privileging forms
- Updating credentialing documentation
- Documenting Medical Staff Department and Committee activities in adherence with Robert’s Rules of Order
- Managing highly sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Supporting patient safety initiatives through compliant Medical Staff processes
- Maintain Medical Staff meetings throughout each calendar year.
- Coordinate annual review of Medical Staff policies and procedures, rules, regulations, and guidelines.
- Maintain Medical Staff files electronically, utilizing paper records only when necessary.
- Support Medical Staff department and committee meetings in accordance with CMS, Joint Commission standards, and Medical Staff Bylaws.
- Partner with Medical Staff leadership, Administration, Department Chairs, Section Chairs, and elected leadership to:
- Review credentialing documentation
- Coordinate meetings
- Resolve Medical Staff-related matters
- Collaborate with Medical Staff leadership to improve credentialing processes and review department and committee activities.
- Communicate concerns identified within credentialing processes or Medical Staff meetings to leadership and administration.
- Ensure coverage and support for Medical Staff meetings.
- Provide guidance, resources, and support to committee chairs and participants.
- Maintain electronic documentation and meeting minutes for accreditation and survey readiness.
- Ensure follow-up actions are documented and completed to maintain compliance.
- Maintain current Medical Staff rosters and communicate changes to internal departments.
- Assist and train staff in maintaining electronic privilege websites for credentialed providers.
- Maintain department and committee membership records.
- Maintain working knowledge of:
- CMS Conditions of Participation
- Joint Commission standards
- Nevada Medical Licensing Board statutes
- Accreditation and peer review requirements
- Coordinate preparation activities for Joint Commission, CMS, URAC, and other regulatory surveys.
- Assist with development and maintenance of Medical Staff privileges and hospital privilege criteria.
- Support and incorporate Renown’s mission into daily activities.
- Maintain organization and efficiency while managing multiple priorities and frequent interruptions.
- Provide accurate guidance in situations where written procedures may not exist.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail while supporting Medical Staff processes under the direction of the Director of Medical Staff Services.
