JOB OVERVIEW:
The In-Room Dining Server is responsible for assisting guests with booking and confirming in-room dining requests and orders while providing attentive, courteous, and efficient service to all guests and callers. Acting as the liaison between the kitchen and in-room dining servers, this role ensures accurate order processing, seamless communication, and timely delivery. Success in this position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a strong focus on guest satisfaction to create a refined and memorable in-room dining experience.
ESSENTIALS JOB FUNCTIONS:

Consistently provide friendly, engaging and anticipatory guest service and heartfelt hospitality.

Perform opening and closing procedures, complete checklists and assigned side work. Refill salt, pepper, and other condiments.

Clean and sanitize assigned areas and tools thoroughly before and after shift end.
-
Polish glasses and silverware, fold napkins, clean and sanitize menus, tables, trays, and high touch surfaces.

Set up room service trays and tables to prepare for incoming orders.
-
Answer in-room dining phones using appropriate etiquette and receive orders.
-
Maintain full knowledge of all food & beverage items, garnishes, allergens, contents and preparation methods.

Describe menu and daily specials. Assist guests regarding menu items in an informative and helpful way.

Correctly customize orders as requested and check with kitchen staff.
-
Submit orders to kitchen and bar by entering orders in POS system. Explain any special instructions with accurate abbreviations.

Manage guest orders in a timely and anticipatory manner.
-
Notify guests and management of delays in service delivery.
-
Prepare hot and cold beverages, such as coffee and/or tea, according to designated recipes and quality standards.

Set trays and tables according to specifications, retrieve food and beverage orders from the kitchen and bar and deliver food to guest rooms, villas, pools or meeting rooms.

Add any additional items to order before it is delivered (condiments, salad dressings, steak knife, etc.).
-
Serve drinks and meals according to service standards while managing guest orders in a timely and anticipatory manner.

Serve alcoholic beverages in accordance with federal, state, local and company regulations.

Collect guest trays, clean and remove the trolleys from guest rooms and hallways.
-
Respond to guest requests in a timely, friendly and efficient manner.
-
Present checks to guests and obtain payments. Process payments in POS system and close out checks.

Perform order taker duties and answer room service telephone, as needed.

Responsible for coordinating in-room dining service with front- and back-of-house personnel to provide a guest experience that meets or exceeds guest expectations.

Assist in expediting food from the kitchen when necessary.

Complete opening and closing procedures in the pool areas. Ensure that the entire pool areas are clean and presentable at all times.

Maintain clean, orderly and fully stocked service stations. Maintain appropriate stock levels of glassware, silverware, dishware, linens, and pool towels.

Maintain the highest level of standards of quality of products and service at all times.

Advise supervisor/manager of any complaints as soon as they occur.

Maintain cleanliness or all Food & Beverage outlet areas. Maintain full knowledge of and comply with food safety and sanitation policies at all times.

Maintain high standards of personal appearance and personal hygiene.

Demonstrate ability to multi-task, manage time and work well under pressure.

Adhere to local and government compliance with health and safety regulations to ensure a clean and safe work environment for guests and employees.

Maintain knowledge of all safety and emergency procedures and is aware of accident prevention policies.

Follow outlet policies, procedures and service standards.

Notify Loss Prevention immediately of found items if guest has departed.

Maintain a professional courteous manner with all guests and fellow employees.

Assist with special and deep cleaning projects as assigned by a supervisor.

Perform any other duties as requested by supervisor.

Assist with monthly inventory of food & beverage and paper products within F&B outlets.
QUALIFICATIONS:

6 months of Food & Beverage experience in a busser/runner/server assistant role.

Good understanding of steps of service.

Ability to carry and balance plates and trays.

Excellent guest service skills and passion for hospitality.

Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English.

Ability to communicate professionally and respectfully with guests and co-workers.
