The Role
We're growing fast and looking for reliable chefs to join our roster. This is flexible, part-time contract work you can shape around your life — whether you're a working restaurant chef curious about branching into private cheffing, a seasoned private chef, a culinary student building experience, or a serious home cook who's great under pressure.
You'll cook in clients' homes across the San Francisco Metro Area, making fresh, personalized meals for professionals and families in a home (non-commercial) kitchen. No commercial-kitchen grind, no fixed shifts — just cooking, on your schedule, for people who genuinely appreciate it. Already have a restaurant gig? Perfect — this is an easy way to pick up private work on the side and start building your own client base.
What you'll do
- Review each recipe and confirm ingredients before your session
- Pick up groceries or check grocery deliveries
- Cook in the client's kitchen and leave it spotless
- Travel to client homes across the SF Metro Area (sessions run 3–4 hours on average)
- Follow all food safety and sanitation standards
- Keep communication warm and professional with clients and the ECJ team
What we're looking for
We welcome chefs of all backgrounds and experience levels. What matters most:
- You're reliable — you show up, on time, ready to cook
- You're a strong multitasker who works well within a set timeframe
- Real cooking skill and attention to detail
- 18+ and eligible to work in the U.S.
- Basic food safety and sanitation know-how
- Reliable car, valid driver's license, auto insurance, and a smartphone
- Comfortable working solo in clients' homes
- Able to pass a background check
