FUNCTION: Perform duties in one or more focus areas, as described below, based upon assignment from supervisor, skills and abilities. Perform other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager or Supervisor(s).
DUTIES
Required duties in all focus areas
- Check daily / weekly / monthly assignment from Lead Person.
- Maintain required quality control checks throughout assignment.
- Contact Lead Person or supervisor regarding any problems.
- Maintain clean area and help others maintain clean area.
- Maintain safe work area, wear proper personal protective equipment.
- Take responsibility for personal quality in workmanship.
- Interact with co-workers, leaders, engineers, and supervisors to support new construction, die repair, production, or maintenance as required.
- Assist in training other as requested.
- 6S housekeeping
- Follow all applicable IATF16949 processes.
- Perform all other duties as required
Tool & Die A
- Effectively and efficiently perform all essential functions of Tool & Die B
- Able to troubleshoot tools/dies in the press.
- Ability to do tool developments and builds.
- Ability to complete engineering changes.
- Ability to train interns and/or apprentices assigned to them.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
- High School graduate or GED
- Vocational school in Tool & Die, Machining or equivalent area
- Journeyman Tool & Die
Tool & Die B
- Effectively and efficiently perform all essential functions of Tool & Die C
- Ability to use tig/mig welders.
- Provides ideas on how to improve tooling.
- Ability to read part prints and CMM layouts.
- Able to make in press repairs and/or adjustments.
- Able to trouble shoot tools/dies at bench.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
- High School graduate or GED
- Vocational school in Tool & Die, Machining or equivalent area
- Journeyman Tool & Die
Tool & Die C
- Ability to use surface grinders, mills.
- Able to perform basic tooling repairs
- Able to complete tool maintenance documentation.
- Has working knowledge of press controls for tooling tryouts.
- Authorized LOTO training
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
- High School graduate or GED
- Vocational school in Tool & Die, Machining or equivalent area
Die Maker Focus
- Refer to “Required duties in all focus areas” above.
- Perform die making operations as per blue print requirements by working with co-workers, leaders, engineers and supervisors for construction of new dies.
- Operate various types of equipment for construction of new dies, including milling machine, saw, shaper, lathe, CNC, drills, grinders,
- Assemble die with required equipment, including die shoe, screw holes, clearance holes, dowels, punch retainers, cutting punches, forms, and stripper.
- Prepare a simulated stamping operation in tool room.
- Test after all phases are correct and run on press as a try out.
- Perform press operations and troubleshoot to meet part print specs.
- Work with quality control in regard to product performance and process capability of tool.
- Verify parts are ready for production by running 100-5,000 pieces.

High School Education or equivalent
Tool & Die Journeyman Status
4 years Die Making experience
