Duties
- Perform comprehensive wound assessments, including evaluating wound size, depth, exudate, and tissue viability using standardized tools and documentation systems such as EMR/EHR systems.
- Develop individualized wound care plans incorporating advanced treatments like debridement, dressings, and skin grafts, ensuring adherence to best practices and infection control protocols.
- Educate patients and their families on wound management techniques, infection prevention strategies, nutrition’s role in healing, and pain management options to empower self-care.
- Monitor patient progress through vital signs assessment, laboratory testing (e.g., specimen collection/processing), and physiological evaluations to adjust treatment plans proactively.
- Maintain meticulous medical documentation covering all aspects of patient care while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical records standards.
Experience
- Proven experience working as a Registered Nurse in wound care or related fields such as critical care (ICU), emergency medicine, or hospital medicine.
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Epic for accurate documentation and patient tracking. Hands On and Pressure Injury experience needed.
- Familiarity with diverse clinical environments such as long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, nursing homes, or hospice settings.
- Certification in basic life support (BLS) is required; additional certifications such as ACLS or neonatal resuscitation are advantageous for specialized roles.
