Full-Time | Hybrid (Riverside / Los Angeles, CA) | Reports to: President & CEO | Domestic & International Travel Required
Are you a public health professional with a passion for campaigns, communications, and community impact - and the project management discipline to bring complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives across the finish line? Do you want to apply your public health training in a dynamic, mission-driven environment that spans medical outreach, global health engagement, and strategic media? If so, we want to hear from you.
ABOUT 3DI COMPANIES
3DI Companies is a family office with a portfolio spanning healthcare management, consulting, education, and investment operations. Our entities operate at the intersection of clinical excellence, academic leadership, and strategic enterprise. Our principals engage regularly with high-profile figures - including international leaders, global health officials, and executives at institutions such as the World Health Organization and the World Bank - requiring a team that moves with precision, discretion, and cultural fluency.
THE ROLE
The Director of Media & Special Projects is a senior, front-facing leadership role at the heart of 3DI's public presence and programmatic impact. We are looking for a public health-trained professional - ideally with a Master of Public Health or comparable graduate credential - who brings a genuine interest in healthcare communications, community health education, and global health engagement, and who has the project management acumen to execute across a range of complex initiatives.
At its core, this is a campaign and project management role in a healthcare context. You will own the coordination, execution, and accountability across a portfolio of public health programs, digital media initiatives, and special events - directing external vendors, agencies, and contractors to deliver high-quality outcomes aligned with 3DI's brand and mission. You do not need to be a hands-on media producer, but you must bring enough fluency in health communications and digital strategy to set direction and evaluate the work of creative partners effectively.
Special projects include the African Primary Healthcare Foundation (APHF) medical outreach programs, local education initiatives, a prospective startup venture programming space, an ongoing media education series, and fundraisers and special events. You will engage regularly with international leaders, global health officials, institutional executives, and media partners, and must represent 3DI with poise, cultural awareness, and professionalism at all times.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Public Health Programs & Special Projects
- Serve as the primary project manager for all special initiatives across 3DI's portfolio - with particular emphasis on public health programs through the African Primary Healthcare Foundation (APHF), local health education initiatives, and the ongoing media education series
- Apply public health knowledge and frameworks to shape program design, community outreach strategies, and health communications across 3DI's initiatives
- Define project charters, timelines, milestones, budgets, and accountability frameworks; hold internal and external stakeholders to them
- Manage events and fundraisers end-to-end - concept development, vendor coordination, logistics, guest management, and post-event reporting
- Prepare executive-ready status reports, dashboards, and leadership recommendations
- Identify partnership and sponsorship opportunities — including with health organizations, academic institutions, and global health bodies — to support program sustainability and growth
Presentations & External Engagement
- Prepare polished, visually compelling presentations for the CEO and leadership for conferences, donor engagements, board meetings, and public events
- Represent 3DI with professionalism and cultural fluency in interactions with high-profile figures - including political leaders, global health officials, and institutional executives
- Support international travel logistics and on-the-ground coordination for outreach programs and stakeholder engagements as required
Vendor & Contractor Management
- Build and manage a reliable network of external agencies, freelancers, web developers, videographers, graphic designers, and content creators
- Establish clear scopes of work, timelines, review processes, and standards for all media and project deliverables
- Evaluate vendor performance and ensure accountability to cost, quality, and deadline commitments
- Mentor and develop junior staff or contractors as the team scales
Digital Strategy & Media Oversight
- Set and own the overarching digital and social media strategy across all 3DI entities, ensuring a cohesive, professional, and mission-aligned brand presence
- Direct external vendors and contractors for web development, design, content production, and multimedia delivery - serving as the internal client and quality gatekeeper
- Manage content calendars, social media platforms, and audience engagement strategies across channels
- Brief creative partners clearly and evaluate deliverables against brand and quality standards
- Monitor analytics and performance metrics; translate insights into strategic direction for external teams
WHAT YOU BRING
Required
- Master of Public Health (MPH) or comparable graduate credential in public health, health communications, global health, or a related field — strongly preferred; bachelor's degree with equivalent experience considered
- 2-5 years of progressive experience in public health program management, health communications, campaign coordination, or a comparable role in a healthcare or mission-driven environment
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects from inception to completion - on time, on budget, and on scope
- Genuine interest in and familiarity with healthcare settings, medical outreach, community health education, or global health
- Experience directing external vendors and contractors (creative agencies, developers, designers, videographers) to deliver high-quality outputs
- Sufficient fluency in digital media and content strategy to brief creative partners, set standards, and evaluate deliverables — hands-on production is not required
- Excellent presentation design and delivery skills, comfortable preparing materials for executive and public audiences
- High proficiency with CMS platforms (WordPress, Squarespace), social media management tools, and Microsoft 365 / Google Workspace
- An ambassadorial presence - poised and culturally fluent across professional, political, and international contexts
- Willingness to travel regularly between Riverside/Los Angeles and internationally as required (including to active program sites such as Nigeria); openness to eventual relocation to Southern California
Preferred
- Experience in global health, academic medical centers, nonprofit health organizations, or public health agencies
- Background in health communications, public health campaigns, or community health education programs
- Event planning experience, including fundraisers, health fairs, and donor-facing engagements
- Familiarity with international health initiatives or cross-cultural health programming
- Experience working with or on behalf of a family office, principal, or C-suite executive
- PMP certification or equivalent project management credential
