Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Firmware Architect specializing in BIOS/UEFI and embedded systems to lead the design, development, debugging, and optimization of firmware across hardware platforms. This role will be responsible for driving firmware architecture and development across the full product lifecycle, from architecture and design through development, testing, debugging, and deployment.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in firmware development, C programming, and BIOS/UEFI, with experience working closely with hardware, software, QA, and product teams to deliver high-performance, scalable, and reliable system solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, design, development, integration, and debugging of embedded firmware and software for hardware platforms.
- Design and implement firmware enhancements, updates, and programming changes across multiple firmware subsystems, including BIOS/UEFI, EFI drivers, and DSP firmware.
- Develop and maintain high-quality firmware using C programming languages.
- Drive firmware architecture decisions and ensure solutions meet performance, reliability, scalability, and product requirements.
- Troubleshoot and debug complex firmware and hardware/software integration issues.
- Collaborate closely with hardware engineers, software developers, QA teams, and product stakeholders throughout the firmware lifecycle.
- Support firmware testing, validation, optimization, and deployment.
- Author and maintain technical documentation, design specifications, and instructional materials related to firmware architecture and operation.
- Allocate and manage technical resources for firmware development projects to ensure timely, high-quality delivery.
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and technical discussions to establish best practices and maintain firmware quality.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of firmware development processes, tools, and methodologies.
Required Qualifications
- Strong firmware development experience.
- Hands-on BIOS/UEFI experience is mandatory.
- Strong proficiency in C programming.
- Proven experience developing firmware for embedded and hardware platforms.
- Experience with UEFI/EFI drivers and BIOS firmware development.
- Strong understanding of firmware architecture, development, debugging, and system-level integration.
- Experience working across the full firmware development lifecycle.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex hardware/firmware and software/firmware issues.
- Strong technical communication and documentation skills.
Important: Candidates without hands-on BIOS/UEFI experience should not be submitted.

Pay: $70.00 - $80.00 per hour
