We're seeking a motivated Student Intern to join the Water Supply Planning & Conservation team at Water District . This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in environmental science, sustainability, water resources, public administration, communications, GIS, business, or related fields to develop valuable professional skills while supporting important water conservation programs.
What You'll Do
As a Student Intern, you'll work alongside experienced professionals and gain hands-on experience in customer service, water conservation, and public outreach.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide outstanding customer service by responding to inquiries through Valley Water's Water Conservation Hotline
- Assist customers with Landscape Rebate Program applications and other conservation programs
- Process applications and maintain accurate records using Oracle-based databases
- Support public outreach events promoting water conservation and sustainability
- Assist with special projects for the Water Supply Planning & Conservation team
- Develop proficiency with Microsoft Office and Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
- Communicate professionally with customers by phone, email, and in person
- Learn how public agencies implement long-term water conservation initiatives

Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must:
- Be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university
- Be enrolled in at least 9 units during each academic term
- Have strong customer service and communication skills
- Be comfortable learning new computer systems and software
- Be detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
- Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Have the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

Pay: $28.27 per hour
Experience:
