Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dietary Aide to join our team in providing exceptional food service to our residents. The ideal candidate will have experience in the food industry, particularly in assisted living, nursing homes, or hospitals. This role is essential in ensuring that meals are prepared, served, and maintained according to dietary guidelines and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and serving of meals to residents, ensuring adherence to dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas, including food preparation surfaces and dining areas.
- Follow food safety protocols during food handling and storage to prevent contamination.
- Buss tables and assist with cleaning dishes and utensils after meals.
- Collaborate with the dietary department to plan menus that meet nutritional needs.
- Provide excellent customer service to residents during meal service, addressing any concerns or requests promptly.
- Support culinary staff with cooking and meal preparation as needed.
- Participate in training sessions related to food safety, sanitation practices, and dietary guidelines.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a dietary aide role or similar position within the food service industry in a Skilled Nursing Facility is preferred.
- Knowledge of food production, meal preparation, and dietary needs for assisted living or nursing home environments is beneficial.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on resident satisfaction.
- Familiarity with food handling practices and sanitation standards is essential.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.
