Duties
- Travel to patient sites, including homes, clinics, and hospitals, to perform blood sampling and specimen collection efficiently and accurately
- Apply proper venipuncture techniques using aseptic procedures to collect blood samples safely and effectively
- Ensure all specimens are labeled correctly, processed promptly, and transported according to laboratory protocols
- Maintain clear communication with patients, providing instructions and answering questions with empathy and professionalism
- Adhere strictly to laboratory procedures, safety standards, and infection control practices during all collection activities
- Document all procedures accurately in electronic health records or paper logs while respecting patient confidentiality
Experience
- Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy knowledge related to venipuncture sites, and physiology fundamentals
- Proven ability to perform venipuncture (blood sampling) and handle specimens with precision and aseptic technique
- Strong patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and provide compassionate care during procedures
