Kitchen Designer – Stosa & Fontana SpecialistPosition Overview
We are seeking an experienced Kitchen Designer specializing in Stosa and Fontana kitchens to join our design team. The ideal candidate must have strong hands-on experience designing European-style kitchens, working with Stosa and Fontana product lines, preparing detailed layouts and elevations, selecting cabinetry and finishes, and coordinating designs with clients, vendors, and the construction team.
The candidate should be able to take a project from initial client consultation and measurements through final kitchen design, material selection, pricing, and installation coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Design residential kitchens specifically using Stosa and Fontana kitchen systems and cabinetry.
- Prepare accurate kitchen layouts, floor plans, elevations, cabinetry plans, and detailed drawings.
- Create professional 3D kitchen designs and renderings for client presentations.
- Work directly with clients to understand their style, functional requirements, budget, and preferences.
- Take and verify accurate site measurements and existing conditions.
- Develop complete cabinet configurations based on available Stosa and Fontana products and specifications.
- Select appropriate cabinets, finishes, countertops, hardware, accessories, appliances, lighting, backsplash, and other kitchen components.
- Understand cabinet dimensions, fillers, panels, toe kicks, end panels, appliance integrations, and other installation details.
- Prepare detailed cabinet orders, material lists, specifications, and takeoffs.
- Review manufacturer catalogs, product specifications, finishes, and available configurations.
- Prepare accurate pricing and estimates based on the selected kitchen design and materials.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers regarding product availability, pricing, lead times, and orders.
- Coordinate with project managers, contractors, installers, and other trades to ensure the design can be properly executed.
- Review shop drawings and cabinet orders before submission to identify errors or missing components.
- Make design revisions based on client feedback while maintaining functionality and budget.
- Visit job sites when necessary to verify measurements and installation progress.
- Identify potential installation issues before cabinets are ordered or installed.
- Maintain organized design files, drawings, revisions, selections, and project documentation.
- Support the sales and estimating team with kitchen proposals and presentations.
Required Experience
- Proven professional experience designing Stosa kitchens.
- Proven professional experience designing Fontana kitchens.
- Strong understanding of European/Italian kitchen cabinetry systems.
- Experience with kitchen remodeling and residential construction.
- Strong knowledge of cabinet dimensions, configurations, fillers, panels, hardware, and accessories.
- Ability to read architectural plans and construction drawings.
- Strong understanding of kitchen work triangles, clearances, appliance placement, ergonomics, and functionality.
- Experience creating detailed kitchen elevations and 3D renderings.
- Experience preparing cabinet orders, material takeoffs, and estimates.
Software Skills
The candidate should be highly proficient in the software used for kitchen design and should be able to quickly learn our internal systems.
Experience with any of the following is preferred:
- 2020 Design
- AutoCAD
- SketchUp
- Chief Architect
- Cabinet/kitchen manufacturer design software
- Other professional kitchen design and rendering software
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
- Has direct Stosa and Fontana kitchen design experience, not just general interior design experience.
- Can independently develop a complete kitchen design from measurements to final drawings.
- Has a strong eye for modern, contemporary, and European kitchen design.
- Understands both design and construction/installation requirements.
- Is highly detail-oriented and can identify design mistakes before ordering.
- Can communicate professionally with homeowners, contractors, vendors, and project managers.
- Can manage multiple kitchen projects simultaneously.
- Understands budgets, pricing, lead times, and material availability.
- Can present designs professionally and confidently to clients.
Preferred Experience
- 3+ years of professional kitchen design experience.
- Previous experience working directly with Stosa and Fontana kitchens.
- Experience with high-end residential remodeling.
- Experience with Italian/European cabinetry.
- Experience coordinating cabinet orders and installations.
- Experience working with contractors and remodeling companies.
- Portfolio demonstrating completed Stosa and/or Fontana kitchen projects.
Important Requirement
Candidates without direct Stosa and Fontana kitchen design experience may not be suitable for this position. Candidates should be prepared to provide examples or a portfolio of previous Stosa and/or Fontana kitchen designs.
Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
