Penguin Coding School is launching an innovative half-day preschool program in Brooklyn and is seeking a warm, enthusiastic Preschool Teacher to lead our morning classroom.
This position is ideal for educators looking for a consistent weekday morning schedule, including parents returning to the classroom, retired teachers, graduate students, or experienced preschool teachers seeking part-time work.
Our preschool combines the nurturing environment of a traditional early childhood classroom with hands-on experiences in science, building, art, literacy, sensory play, and creative exploration. No robotics or coding experience is required—we provide all curriculum and training.
Schedule
- Monday–Friday
- 8:00 AM–12:00 PM
- 10-20 hours per week
- Follows the academic school year (with optional summer opportunities as the program grows)
What You'll Do
- Create a warm, welcoming classroom where children feel safe and excited to learn.
- Lead engaging play-based activities that encourage curiosity and creativity.
- Support children's social, emotional, language, and cognitive development.
- Guide hands-on projects involving science, building, art, literacy, sensory play, and exploration.
- Communicate with families about children's progress.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and school leadership.
Qualifications
- Experience working with preschool-aged children.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (or currently pursuing).
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- Passion for helping young children learn through play.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
