In our time of Company growth, we are seeking an Authorization and Referral Team Lead.
Work Location: Bradenton, FL
As part of this role, you will:
Leadership & Team Management

Provides day-to-day leadership, guidance, coaching, and support to Authorization and Referral Specialists.

Assists with onboarding, training, competency validation, and ongoing development of team members.

Monitors staff productivity, work queues, quality metrics, and departmental performance indicators.

Assists leadership in developing workflows, policies, and procedures that improve efficiency and patient access.

Conducts regular audits to ensure compliance with departmental standards and payer requirements.

Serves as the primary escalation resource for complex referral and authorization issues.

Promote teamwork, accountability, and a culture of exceptional customer service.

Associate or bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, Business Administration, Nursing, or a related healthcare field preferred but not required.

High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

Minimum three (3) years of experience in referral management, healthcare operations, medical office administration, patient access, or authorization processing.

Minimum one (1) year of leadership, supervisory, training, or team lead experience.

Working knowledge of insurance eligibility, authorizations, referrals, and payer requirements.

Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare operations.
The Authorization and Referral Team Lead collaborates with providers, clinical staff, revenue cycle teams, insurance carriers, and external specialists to facilitate patient access to care, improve referral turnaround times, reduce delays of authorization, and enhance patient experience. This role supports MCR Health's commitment to providing an Exceptional Experience to Everyone, Every Time through outstanding customer service, operational excellence, and continuous process improvement. The position is also responsible for maintaining referral and authorization tracking systems, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting departmental productivity goals.
