As a Physical Therapy Technician, you will work under the general direction and supervision of a licensed physical therapist or licensed physical therapist assistant. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a healthcare setting.
*Duties*
- Maintains order of treatment room and sanitation of therapeutic equipment after patient use to ensure quality customer service.
- Instructs, motivates, and assists patients on proper form and execution of functional activities/therapeutic exercises.
- Recording patient progress for the physical therapist
- Assists in monitoring patients through treatment sessions and reports to therapist.
- Performs clerical duties such as answering phones, filing charts, collecting co-pays
- Performs other duties, such as administering and removing moist heat/cold pack & electrical stimulation.
- Maintains standards of care and ethical conduct when treating patient's caseload in office. Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
- Willingness to travel to other office locations.
*Experience*
- Experience in a healthcare or exercise field is preferred but not required.
- Athletic trainer experience plus
- Multi-task while maintaining a positive, friendly attitude.
- Attention to detail
- Strong customer service skills
- Familiarity with medical terminology and anatomy
- Exposure to various healthcare settings such as hospitals, outpatient clinics, or orthopedic facilities
- Understanding of acute care and inpatient/outpatient rehabilitation processes
- Communication skills, including writing, speaking and active listening
- Team Player
- Understanding of industry-specific policies, HIPAA regulations for health care
*Education*
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Previous clinical experience and/or on-the-job training may be advantageous
- Willingness to adhere to HIPPA regulations and protect patients’ privacy
- Good computer skills
- Compassion when helping patients
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $13.00 - $18.00 per hour
