Safe Harbor Family Crisis Center is seeking a Court Advocate to assist survivors of domestic violence through support and advocacy.
Since 1990, Safe Harbor Family Crisis Center has been providing programs and services for survivors of domestic violence in Knox County. Emergency safety planning, court advocacy, counseling services and resources are provided.

The Court Advocate supports survivors of domestic violence as they navigate the legal system.
Responsibilities
- support survivors through court documents and proceedings
- prepare documents with survivors such as Orders of Protection
- provide support for survivors throughout the legal steps
- accompany survivors to court
- be familiar with the Illinois Domestic Violence Act
- assist other team members with supporting survivors in their time of need
- crisis line coverage rotation
- other duties as assigned
Requirements
- must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- proof of vehicle insurance
- access to vehicle during business hours
- uphold to confidentiality agreement
- background check
- will need to complete a 40-hour domestic violence training at start of employment
