Job Title: RN - Utilization Review
Assignment Length: 13 weeks with possible extension
Location: Syracuse, NY
Shift: Days (8:00-16:30)
Pay Rate: $65/hour
Job Summary:
- Responsible for performing mix of Admission, Continued Stay, and Discharge reviews for diverse patient populations at a minimum volume of 25 reviews per day. Population to include Medical, Surgical, and Behavioral Health admissions for pediatric through adult population.
- Reviews will encompass Inpatient, Outpatient, Observation, and Emergency level of care for Medicare, Managed Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Medicaid, Commercial, Workers’ Compensation, and No Fault
- Nurses are responsible for ensuring correct order and class alignment in Epic throughout the duration of each patient stay.
Experience:
- Prior experience in a Utilization Review position required with established proficiency
- Preferred Experience: With level of care screening criteria such as MCG or Interqual, CMS regulations as related to hospital admissions, Utilization management or utilization review, and interfacing with health care payers/regulatory agencies.
- Acute care/hospital-based Utilization Review experience preferred
Technical Proficiency
- Epic Electronic Health Record (EHR) experience required
- InterQual first-level screening experience required
- Experience with payer portals required
- Microsoft Suite – Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, Excel – experience required
Job Requirements:
- Active, unrestricted New York State (NYS) Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- Current BLS/CPR Certification
