Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented QC Inspector Level II (Intermediate Level ) OR aQC Inspector Level III (Advanced) professional to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that products meet rigorous quality standards by performing precise inspections, measurements, and audits throughout the production process. Your expertise will help maintain compliance with industry regulations and quality management systems, contributing to the delivery of safe, reliable, and high-quality products. QC Inspector II (Intermediate Level, 2+ years): Performs inspections independently, troubleshooting minor issues, and assisting in process improvements. The QC Inspector II performs quality inspections independently, troubleshoots minor equipment and process issues, and contributes to process improvement initiatives. This intermediate-level role requires sound independent judgment, strong working knowledge of inspection equipment and rejection criteria, and the ability to train and support less experienced QC staff. Qualifications and Experience: High school diploma or GED required; technical/vocational certification in quality control, manufacturing, or a related field preferred. 2+ years of experience in a QC inspection role within a manufacturing environment, preferably plastics, packaging, or bottle/preform production. Hands-on proficiency with measuring vision systems, spectrophotometers, height gauges, torque testers, and other precision measurement equipment. Working knowledge of AQL sampling procedures and standards (e.g., ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 or ISO 2859). Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including dimensions, tolerances, and specifications. Intermediate to advanced Excel skills for generating, formatting, and exporting inspection reports. Solid understanding of bottle and preform defect types (e.g., short shots, contamination, crystallinity issues) and the ability to distinguish material- from process-related causes. Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and workplace safety protocols. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience reporting non-conformances via Teams, email, and lab documentation. Prior experience training or mentoring junior inspectors (QC Inspector I, QCIP) is a plus. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple inspection stations and documentation simultaneously.
QC Inspector III (Advanced Level, 5+ years ) is the expert-level quality control role, combining mastery of inspection equipment and rejection criteria with leadership, training, and process improvement responsibilities. This inspector determines root causes of subtle defects, leads customer complaint and corrective action investigations, validates AQL sampling and material dispositions across the team, and trains and mentors QC Inspector I and II staff. The role also requires working knowledge of SQF standards and the ability to identify and report compliance failures. Qualifications and Experience: Associate degree or technical certification in quality control, engineering, or a related field preferred. 5+ years of QC inspection experience in a manufacturing environment, including demonstrated progressive responsibility from QC Inspector I/II roles, preferably in plastics, packaging, or bottle/preform production. Proven expertise operating measuring vision systems and color testing machines, including complex job and template setup, with the ability to train others. Advanced working knowledge of AQL sampling standards, with demonstrated ability to validate sampling results and make material disposition decisions across the team. Advanced understanding of bottle and preform defect types, including subtle defects (gate burns, thickness variation, material inconsistencies), with demonstrated root-cause analysis skills. Experience leading customer complaint investigations and corrective action processes (including SCAR), with the ability to validate the effectiveness of implemented actions. Working knowledge of SQF (Safe Quality Food) standards and the ability to identify and report non-compliance. Advanced proficiency reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings, tolerances, and specifications, and using them to troubleshoot product and tooling issues. Demonstrated leadership and training experience, including developing SOPs and mentoring QC Inspector I and II staff. Strong analytical skills for identifying defect trends and collaborating cross-functionally with production teams on process improvements. Advanced Excel and reporting skills, including auditing report formats and data accuracy across the team. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross-team coordination, training, and customer-facing quality discussions.
Pay: $22.00 - $24.68 per hour
