PCE, a leader in commercial general contacting in central Missouri, is looking for an experienced construction superintendent to lead various small projects. PCE has over 35 years of experience and is located in Columbia, MO.
Our superintendents are responsible for all activities at the construction site, including providing a safe and productive work environment, coordinating trades and subcontractors, and maintaining the project schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Self-perform work in the field alongside internal labor and other trades
- Manage Multiple small or mid-size projects simultaneously
- Coordinate internal labor, subcontractors and material suppliers
- Provide a safe work environment including enforcing 100% safety procedures
- Order materials and coordinate deliveries to coincide with construction progress.
- Maintain detailed daily reports.
- Responsible for the overall project schedule. Work with Project Manager and subcontractors to create and implement project schedule.
- Responsible for quality control. Assures that the work adheres to the project plans, specifications, codes, and other governmental agencies requirements.
- Coordinate inspections and ensure that testing is being performed per the contract documents.
- Maintain a good relationship with the Project Manager and work as a team to complete the project.
- Act as an employee mentor and regularly review their performance.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3-5 years of being a working superintendent for commercial projects
- Experience with ground up construction, including foundation construction
- Ability to use layout equipment, laser, transit, (total station is a plus)
- Lead superintendent on multiple small to mid-size projects
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to read and interpret drawings/specs
- Able to work and communicate with owners and design team
- Experience with Autodesk or other similar software encouraged
- Valid driver’s license
- Basic technology skills (laptop or iPad)
- Math proficiency
- Work with tools
- Live in Central MO or already have plans to relocate
- Ability to work unaided
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $32.00 - $38.00 per hour
