We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our compassionate and hard working team. Minimum 2 years veterinary assistant experience is required. We are a privately owned, expanding companion animal practice located in Lindenhurst. We believe that a pet is a member of the family and should receive outstanding healthcare in a gentle, caring environment. We are looking for a personable and professional individual to join us in our mission. This person should be organized, detail oriented, have excellent communication skills and be a team player. You’ll play an important role in bringing comfort to our patients and ensuring the smooth running of our practice. Responsibilities
- Obtain thorough patient history and TPR/scribe for Doctor
- Clean examination tables and rooms after each appt
- Restrain animals during examinations or vaccinations
- Fill medication prescribed by Veterinarian
- Help in cases of emergencies
- Keep accurate records and logs
- Help maintain a clean and neat work environment
Skills
- Proven experience as a Veterinary Assistant for two years or more
- Excellent communication skills
- Patient and caring personality
- Ability to follow instructions properly and work as a team
- Comfortable being around animals of all sizes
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job
- Availability to occasionally work in emergencies
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
