About the Position
Blackwell Technologies is seeking a dependable, hard-working individual to join our growing metal finishing operation.This is a hands-on manufacturing position with training in chemical processes, plating operations, wastewater treatment, quality control, and general plant operations. The successful candidate will be cross-trained throughout multiple areas of the business and will develop specialized technical skills that are highly valuable within the manufacturing industry.No prior electroplating experience is required. We're looking for someone with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.
Work Location & Training
This position supports operations at both our Chicago and East Chicago facilities. Work schedules and training assignments may take place at either location depending on business needs.Applicants should be comfortable commuting between Chicago and East Chicago when required.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine testing and analysis of plating solutions and process chemistry
- Monitor chemical concentrations and maintain process control records
- Prepare and add chemicals to production tanks according to established procedures
- Assist with tank makeups, cleanouts, filtration, and solution changes
- Organize, label, receive, and maintain chemical inventory
- Support wastewater treatment operations and maintain treatment records
- Maintain operating logs, production records, and safety documentation
- Assist with process troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support quality control efforts and help maintain production consistency
- Participate in cross-training across manufacturing, chemistry, quality, and environmental functions
Qualifications
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Basic math and recordkeeping skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable working around industrial chemicals with proper training and safety procedures
- Previous manufacturing, industrial, laboratory, or chemical experience is a plus, but not - required

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
