Job Summary

Duties
- Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to promote optimal oral health.
- Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans.
- Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper technique and safety protocols are followed.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to enhance their understanding of dental health.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical histories in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
- Follow infection control protocols adhering to HIPAA regulations and aseptic techniques to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Requirements
- Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice.
- Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry environments, with familiarity in pediatric dentistry preferred.
- Proficiency in dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding for accurate documentation and billing processes.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques essential for safe clinical practice.
- Experience working with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining excellent patient care standards.
- Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices is a plus, along with experience in dental office or clinic settings.
