Tax Equity Professionals (TEP) structures solar tax equity investments for high-net-worth individuals, putting federal tax incentives to work through carefully built investment portfolios. We've built strong relationships and a growing book of business — what we haven't built yet is the system that runs underneath it. That's where you come in.
We're not looking for someone who needs a fully built process handed to them. We're looking for someone who looks at a messy, undocumented workflow and feels something close to relief — finally, something to fix. You'll map out how an investor relationship moves from first conversation to funded deal to year-five renewal, find exactly where it breaks down, and build the fix — whether that's a tool, a step, or a person.
What You'll Actually Do
- Document the full investor journey end-to-end and find the specific points where deals stall, get dropped, or lose momentum.
- Build the process — and the systems and checkpoints behind it — so that our salespeople can focus on bringing in new relationships instead of chasing paperwork.
- Own the cadence that keeps our existing investors engaged. We currently re-engage about 1 in 10 eligible investors for additional investment — and we know that number should be dramatically higher.
- Bring order to a sales operation that's currently running on relationships and memory rather than a documented system — and become the person who can answer “where did this deal stall and why” with confidence.
- Work directly with our CEO to scope what comes next as the process matures, including future hires that will build on the foundation you put in place.
You Might Be a Fit If...
- You're energized by ambiguity early on, but you don't stay in “big idea” mode — you naturally move toward documenting the steps, defining what's measurable, and building something repeatable.
- You care about getting the details right and would rather take the time to understand why something breaks than throw a quick patch on it and move on.
- You're comfortable owning a process and managing the people who work within it, without needing constant direction once expectations are clear.
- You'd rather be the person who built the system everyone else relies on than the person closing the most deals — this is a builder-and-operator role, not a top-line sales role.
What We're Looking For
- Experience building or substantially improving a sales process, ideally in financial services, investments, real estate, or another high-trust, relationship-driven sales environment.
- A track record of managing both a process and the people moving through it — not just supporting someone else's system.
- Comfort with CRM/pipeline tools and the judgment to know when a problem needs technology, a new step, or a person to solve it.
- A methodical, detail-oriented approach — you're the person who notices the gap nobody else flagged.
Why TEP
You'll be the first person to truly own this function — which means a real opportunity to shape it, not just execute someone else's playbook. Our existing client base alone represents a substantial, currently-underrealized revenue opportunity, and you'll be the one who unlocks it.
