Stonehurst Manor is hiring a Restaurant Host for The Wild Rose Restaurant. We’re looking for someone who is friendly, dependable, organized, and comfortable working in a busy guest-facing environment.
The Host is responsible for welcoming guests and, just as importantly, controlling the flow of the dining room so our servers and kitchen can provide excellent service.
Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome guests as they arrive.
- Manage dinner reservations and the seating chart.
- Seat guests and provide menus.
- Answer phones and take reservations accurately.
- Rotate tables appropriately between servers.
- Pace seating to prevent overwhelming the kitchen or dining room.
- Keep accurate track of occupied, available, and resetting tables.
- Communicate wait times and delays professionally.
- Communicate special requests, celebrations, and allergies to the appropriate team members.
- Coordinate with servers, bartenders, kitchen staff, and management throughout service.
- Help reset tables and assist the dining room when needed.
- Thank guests as they leave and help ensure they had a positive experience.
What We're Looking For
You do not need extensive restaurant experience. We can teach the systems and procedures.
We are looking for someone who:
- Is reliable and arrives on time.
- Is naturally friendly and comfortable talking with guests.
- Can stay calm when several things are happening at once.
- Is organized and pays attention to details.
- Communicates well with coworkers.
- Is willing to help wherever needed.
- Can work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Schedule
Evening shifts with weekend availability required. Part-time and full-time schedules may be available.
