The Transportation Specialist is responsible for the safe, timely, and courteous transport of patients to and from Capital Area Health Network (CAHN) medical facilities. This role ensures patients are transported with professionalism and care while adhering to all traffic laws, safety standards, and organizational protocols. The Transportation Specialist also assists patients during boarding and exiting, maintains vehicle cleanliness and readiness, and communicates effectively with staff to support smooth appointment coordination.

Maintain a safe and responsible driving record at all times; promptly report any traffic violations (on or off duty) to the Transportation and/or Facilities Supervisor.

Ensure vehicles are clean, safe, and regularly inspected to support smooth operation and patient comfort.

Prioritize safety at all times to protect patients, staff, and visitors.

Assist patients during boarding and exiting the vehicle, ensuring comfort and safety.

Perform assigned transportation duties and additional tasks as directed by the Transportation or Facilities Supervisor.

Support other CAHN departments during idle time to promote teamwork and operational efficiency.

Maintain a neat, professional appearance and adhere to CAHN’s Dress Code policy.

Park transit vehicles only in designated locations; any deviations require supervisor approval.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Monday-Tuesday 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Wednesday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. -
Occasional extended hours
