Overview
We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and patient caregiver to provide one-on-one care for an elderly gentleman in his home. This is a relaxed, low-stress caregiving position in a comfortable home environment. The client is cooperative and participates in his own care. He is a gait belt assist and is able to do most of the work during transfers, requiring guidance and steady assistance rather than heavy lifting.
The ideal candidate is reliable, attentive, and enjoys helping others maintain their independence and quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.
- Provide transfer assistance using a gait belt while following safe body mechanics and manual handling techniques.
- Monitor and document changes in the client's condition, including taking vital signs as needed and reporting concerns to family members or the care manager.
- Administer medications according to prescribed schedules.
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning.
- Perform light housekeeping, including laundry, dishes, tidying, and maintaining a clean and safe living environment.
- Document daily care provided, observations, and any notable changes.
- Provide companionship and promote a positive, respectful, and supportive atmosphere.
Qualifications
- Previous caregiving, CNA, home health, or personal care experience preferred but not required.
- Compassionate, dependable, and professional.
- Comfortable assisting with personal care.
- Ability to safely assist with transfers using a gait belt.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
