Duties
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims by communicating with WC insurance carriers and internal teams to expedite resolution.
- Verify medical records and documentation to support claims processing and resolve billing issues efficiently.
- Maintain detailed records of collection activities, correspondence, and claim statuses within healthcare claims management systems.
- Collaborate closely with healthcare providers and insurance companies to clarify billing questions and facilitate prompt payments.
- Stay updated on health insurance policies, workers' compensation regulations, and industry best practices to ensure compliance and optimize collections.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in WC medical collection processes within a healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medical coding (CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10), and billing procedures.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with insurance carriers, providers, and patients.
- Understanding of insurance policies related to workers' compensation claims and medical records management.
- Ability to analyze complex medical bills and documentation accurately while adhering to regulatory guidelines.
