Varra Financial | Louisville, Colorado
Base salary: $80,000–$100,000 plus bonus opportunities
About Varra Financial
Varra Financial is an established, growing wealth-management firm serving retirees, business owners, high-income professionals and multigenerational families. Our advisors work collaboratively to provide comprehensive financial planning, investment management and ongoing guidance.
We are hiring an Associate Financial Advisor who wants to develop into an excellent client-facing advisor—not remain solely an analyst or administrator.
The Opportunity
The Associate Financial Advisor will work alongside Lead and Service Advisors to prepare financial plans, support client meetings, identify planning opportunities and drive follow-through. As the associate develops, they will present recommendations, lead portions of meetings and assume responsibility for next-generation and selected firm-service relationships.
This position follows a transparent, competency-based career path toward Service Advisor, typically over two to five years.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare meeting agendas, financial plans, analyses and advisor briefing materials.
- Attend client meetings and document decisions, responsibilities and next steps.
- Ensure client follow-up is completed accurately and promptly.
- Maintain financial-planning and client data in eMoney, Wealthbox and other firm systems.
- Identify opportunities involving retirement, investments, taxes, estate planning, insurance and cash flow.
- Present defined planning topics and recommendations during client meetings.
- Support investment analysis, risk assessment, account structure and model selection.
- Work closely with the client-service team on account opening, transfers and implementation.
- Develop relationships with next-generation and firm-service clients.
- Assist 401(k) participants and plan administrators with education, planning and service needs.
- Participate in internal projects that improve the firm’s client experience and operating processes.
Ideal Candidate
- Two or more years of experience in wealth management, financial planning or advisor support.
- Strong interest in developing into an independent, client-facing advisor.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High emotional intelligence and ability to build client rapport.
- Consistent follow-through, attention to detail and personal accountability.
- Collaborative, low-ego approach to working with advisors and client-service professionals.
- Working knowledge of investments and comprehensive financial planning.
- CFP® certification or active progress toward it is strongly preferred.
- Series 65 or Series 66, or the ability to obtain the appropriate license.
- Experience with eMoney, Wealthbox, Holistiplan, PreciseFP or comparable technology is helpful.
What Success Looks Like
During the first year, the Associate Advisor will build mastery of Varra’s:
- Financial-planning and client-service process
- Technology and workflow systems
- Investment philosophy and model-selection framework
- Meeting preparation and follow-up standards
- Client value proposition
- Team roles and responsibilities
Longer-term advancement requires excellent communication, independently led meetings, consistent client experiences, planning and investment mastery, and a demonstrated ability to remove work from Lead Advisors’ plates.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary of $80,000–$100,000, based on experience, credentials, licensing and client readiness
- Quarterly team bonus eligibility
- Annual firm revenue-growth bonus eligibility
- Optional production compensation for qualifying business personally sourced; business development is not required
- Employer-sponsored retirement plan
- Medical and ancillary benefits under the firm’s current plans
- Flexible paid time off and paid holidays
- Support for licensing, continuing education and CFP® development
