Civil EngineerPosition Summary
Danch, Harner & Associates, Inc. is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Civil Engineer to join our team. The Civil Engineer will be responsible for the design, preparation, and management of civil engineering projects, working closely with clients, contractors, surveyors, landscape architects, and other project team members.
Responsibilities
- Prepare civil engineering plans, specifications, calculations, and technical reports.
- Design site improvements including grading, drainage, stormwater management, utilities, roadways, parking areas, and other infrastructure.
- Review survey information and coordinate engineering designs with survey data.
- Prepare construction documents and assist with permitting and regulatory requirements.
- Perform engineering calculations and ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, municipalities, and other consultants.
- Conduct site visits, field investigations, and construction observations as needed.
- Review contractor submittals, RFIs, and project documentation.
- Assist with project scheduling, budgeting, and coordination.
- Review plans and documents for accuracy, completeness, and constructability.
- Communicate project status, design considerations, and recommendations to project managers and clients.
- Maintain organized project files and documentation.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred, or ability to obtain licensure.
- Experience with civil engineering design and preparation of construction documents preferred.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred.
- Knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal regulations and design standards.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
Preferred Experience
Experience with site development, stormwater management, drainage design, grading, utility design, roadway improvements, and municipal permitting is preferred.
Work Environment
This position involves a combination of office-based engineering and occasional field work. The successful candidate should be comfortable communicating with clients and project team members and working in an environment where priorities and project needs may vary.
Pay: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
