At Theiss Landscape Works, we specialize in high-quality, custom landscape construction with a strong emphasis on craftsmanship, efficiency, and teamwork. We are looking for an experienced Landscape Construction Foreman to lead a crew of 3–6 team members and execute landscape installation projects to a high standard.
This is a hands-on leadership role. As a Foreman, you will work closely with our Project Coordinators and under the direction of the Production Manager to plan, organize, and complete projects efficiently, safely, and with minimal downtime.

Crew Leadership & Jobsite Management
- Supervise and lead a landscape construction crew of 3–6 employees
- Organize daily job flow and ensure all crew members are always lined out with clear tasks
- Think ahead and plan upcoming work to eliminate downtime
- Train and develop crew members so tasks can be delegated efficiently
- Lead by example by working alongside your crew and building trust and respect
- Maintain a positive, productive, and professional jobsite environment
Project Execution
- Read and interpret landscape designs, layouts, blueprints, and specifications with minimal assistance
- Work closely with Project Coordinators to organize jobs from start to finish
- Coordinate labor, materials, and equipment needs to meet project schedules
- Assist with jobsite preparation prior to project start
Construction & Technical Work
- Install landscape features including hardscape, walkways, fences, irrigation systems, flower beds, stone borders and water features
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and equipment such as skid steers, chainsaws, jackhammers, laser levels, and measurement tools
- Perform daily inspections and preventative maintenance on tools and equipment
- Inspect truck and trailer daily, including load security, lights, and tire pressure
Safety, Quality & Communication
- Enforce all company safety policies, PPE requirements, and procedures
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe jobsites, trucks, trailers, and yard areas
- Communicate professionally and courteously with customers when on site
- Keep Project Coordinators informed of job progress, needs, and any issues
- Ensure all work meets company quality and craftsmanship standards
Administrative Responsibilities
- Complete and submit all required daily paperwork, including:
- Crew daily reports
- Equipment inspection forms
- Attendance and time tracking
- Job receipts and materials documentation
- Use a smartphone or data-enabled device for communication and reporting

Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of experience in landscape construction or related construction field
- Proven experience leading and training crews
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and landscape plans
- Knowledge of landscape materials, construction methods, tools, and equipment
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to safely operate required tools and equipment
- Must speak, read, and write English
- Ability to carry and use a smartphone for daily reporting
- Ability to reliably commute to the shop
