The Job is local ( california only), for walking floor trailer. Join our dynamic team as a Class A CDL Driver and take charge of delivering freight safely and efficiently across various routes. This role offers an exciting opportunity to operate a range of commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and specialized equipment like dump trucks and roll-off trucks. As a key player in our logistics network, you'll ensure timely deliveries while adhering to all safety regulations and industry standards. Your expertise in commercial truck driving and cargo handling will keep our operations running smoothly and reliably.
Duties
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles such as tractor-trailers.
- Load and unload freight using manual handling techniques or equipment like forklifts, ensuring proper cargo securing and compliance with safety standards.
- Navigate using GPS systems to optimize delivery routes while maintaining awareness of traffic conditions and road hazards.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, inspections, deliveries, and compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify mechanical issues or safety concerns before hitting the road.
- Deliver freight to various locations with professionalism, ensuring timely delivery while providing excellent customer service.
Skills
- Proven experience operating Class A commercial trucks with manual transmission and manual handling skills.
- Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT requirements, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols.
- Skilled in route planning using GPS navigation systems for efficient delivery scheduling.
- Ability to load & unload cargo safely using forklift or manual methods; familiarity with logistics cargo handling procedures.
- Excellent driving record with a routes.
- Strong communication skills for coordinating deliveries and adhering to DOT regulations during transport operations.
