Position Title: Manager on Duty
Reports To: Branch Director / Senior Program Director/ CEO
FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

General Function
Under the direction of the BD/SPD, the Manager on Duty provides leadership and management for the branch facility to maintain high standards of excellence in all aspects of branch operations in collaboration with department leadership teams in accordance with Topeka YMCA policies, procedures, and standards.
Minimum Entry Requirements
Education / Experience Requirements
- Minimum age of 21
- Minimum of two years customer service experience
- Minimum one-year supervisory experience
- Internal candidates not meeting above requirements must be employed for at least two years and have met or exceeded performance measurements
- Full Time Only
- Mon – Fri, 2:30p – Close
- Sat – Sun, 11a – Close
Physical / Mental Requirements
- Must be able to routinely perform physical activities including climbing stairs, bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, reaching, sitting, standing for extended periods, walking, and lifting/moving up to 50 pounds
- Must have ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Must possess problem solving, organizational, and task management skills; ability to make independent and sound decisions in a rapidly changing environment
- Must be detail oriented and exhibit a high degree of accuracy and alertness
- Must demonstrate initiative in absence of supervision
- Must relate to and work with diverse groups in a friendly and consistent manner
- Must work collaboratively and independently while meeting assigned goals, duties, and deadlines
- Must exercise high levels of discretion and confidentiality
- Must present a neat and professional appearance at all times
Job Requirements
- Commitment to YMCA mission, vision, and values
- Attend New Employee Orientation within 30 days of hire
- Complete CPR/AED, First Aid, O2, Listen First Workshop, and Membership Training per conditions of employment
- Learn membership software functionality
- Learn all emergency procedures and action plans
- Abide by all YMCA policies and procedures
- Work schedule including evenings and weekends as needed
Job Responsibilities
Staff Development
- Ensure staff exhibit Culture of Excellence and communicate YMCA mission, vision, and values
- Ensure staff dress appropriately per Employee Handbook
- Monitor staffing levels and send staff home if overstaffed
- Correct inappropriate behavior and communicate with supervisor for disciplinary action
- Ensure staff are present and working appropriately
- Ensure staff are trained in crisis response plan
Program Operations
- Conduct regular walk-throughs throughout shift
- Ensure services comply with YMCA standards
- Monitor and evaluate programs for quality improvement
- Ensure proper front desk procedures
- Maintain knowledge of association-wide programs
- Ensure program information is properly displayed
- Be accessible and visible to staff and members
- Communicate departmental concerns at end of shift for 24-hour response
- Complete and submit MOD report at end of each shift
Strong Community Campaign / Financial Development
- Provide leadership for fundraising campaigns, events, and development efforts to meet goals
Facilities
- Maintain knowledge of risk management procedures
- Ensure completion of incident reports and follow-up
- Maintain clean, safe front desk area
Other Responsibilities
- Follow abuse prevention policies, mandated reporting, and confidentiality procedures
- Communicate promptly with branch leadership and staff
- Attend required trainings and follow boundary policies
- Maintain secure environments and proper sign-in/out procedures
- Attend conferences and professional development opportunities
- Perform all other assigned duties

Provide leadership and management to ensure a safe facility, high-performing staff, and full engagement with members and program participants.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
