- Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions utilizing approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, trauma-focused therapy, and evidence-based practices.
- Implement crisis intervention techniques to manage urgent situations safely and effectively while adhering to clinical ethical guidelines and HIPAA regulations.
- Maintain accurate and detailed clinical documentation in compliance with medical records standards, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), and EMR/EHR systems.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, case managers, educators, and families to coordinate care plans for clients with co-occurring disorders or developmental disabilities.
- Offer specialized support for clients experiencing PTSD, grief, addiction issues, or gender-related counseling needs.
- Engage in ongoing research and professional development to stay current with best practices in mental health counseling and behavioral health interventions.
Skills
- Proven experience in psychotherapy, mental health counseling, or clinical social work within outpatient or inpatient settings.
- Strong knowledge of behavioral therapy, trauma-focused therapy, addiction counseling, and child & youth therapy techniques.
- Skilled in crisis management, behavior management, medical terminology, and clinical documentation standards.
- Familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, medical records management, and telehealth therapy platforms.
- Ability to conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and treatment planning for diverse populations including pediatrics and geriatrics.
- Excellent client communication skills with a compassionate approach tailored to individual needs.
- Experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), developmental disabilities, or co-occurring disorders is highly desirable.
