Position Summary
The At-Risk Teacher at CORE Academy provides high-quality instruction, intervention, and relationship-centered support for students whose academic, behavioral, social-emotional, or life circumstances require an educational setting beyond the traditional classroom. This position focuses on creating a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment where students are supported academically while developing the skills necessary for long-term success.
Teachers at CORE Academy are members of a highly collaborative team. The position offers significant support, shared problem-solving, and ongoing professional collaboration to meet the unique needs of every student.
Essential Responsibilities
CORE Academy provides a supportive, relationship-centered learning environment for students whose academic, behavioral, or social-emotional needs are best served outside the traditional classroom. Teachers work within a highly collaborative team committed to helping every student succeed through individualized instruction, strong relationships, and comprehensive supports.

Professional Expectations

Contract days and salary placement are determined by the Master Contract agreement.

Evaluation will be conducted in accordance with the Iowa Teaching Standards and district evaluation procedures.

Employment is contingent upon valid Iowa licensure and required endorsements.

Terms of Employment
Employment terms, salary, benefits, and evaluation procedures are established by the Storm Lake Community School District Board of Education and applicable agreements. Continued employment is contingent upon satisfactory performance and compliance with district policies and state and federal regulations.
