We are intentionally seeking a Black male-presenting, LGBTQIA-identified therapist to join our team. We believe that representation, shared lived experience, and cultural attunement are essential to the healing we offer. If you are passionate about serving Black queer and trans folks, building community, and practicing from a place of both clinical skill and personal insight, we want to hear from you.
Position Overview
We are hiring an associate-licensed or fully licensed psychotherapist to provide individual, couples/relationship, and/or group therapy. You’ll maintain a minimum caseload of 10 client-facing hours per week, with the opportunity to grow as our practice expands. This role includes a blend of in-person sessions at our Cypress office and the possibility of some telehealth hours, along with active involvement in community outreach and programming.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide culturally responsive, affirming psychotherapy to Black and LGBTQIA+ adolescents, adults, and/or couples
- Develop and implement treatment plans that honor each client’s lived experience, strengths, and goals
- Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in compliance with ethical and legal standards
- Participate in regular clinical consultation and team meetings
- Contribute to community initiatives such as workshops, support groups, tabling events, or partnerships with local Black and queer organizations
- Uphold a safe, affirming therapeutic environment that actively challenges systemic oppression and centers healing justice
Qualifications & Requirements
- Identity & Presentation: Black male-presenting and LGBTQIA-identified (this is a genuine occupational qualification given the specialized focus of our practice)
- Licensure: Active associate or full clinical license in Texas. We welcome:
- LMFT-Associate (LMFT-A)
- LPC-Associate (LPC-A)
- LMSW (working toward LCSW)
- Fully licensed LMFT, LPC, LCSW, or Psychologist
- Reliable Transportation: Must have dependable transportation to commute to our Cypress, TX office and to attend occasional community outreach events in the greater Cypress/Houston area
- Strong understanding of intersectional identities, systemic trauma, and affirming care for LGBTQIA+ and Black communities
- Commitment to anti-racist, trans-affirming, sex-positive, and disability justice frameworks
- Excellent clinical boundaries, communication, and self-reflective practice
Schedule & Commitment
- Minimum 10 client-facing hours per week with the ability to build a sustainable caseload
- At least 2 in-person days per week at our Cypress office (additional hours may be telehealth)
- At least 1 late evening per week (e.g., sessions ending at 7pm or 8pm) to accommodate client needs
- Flexibility to attend occasional weekend community events is a plus
