Position Summary
The Cook is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals while maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming dining environment for residents, families, and team members. This role plays an important part in creating a positive dining experience by following menus, food safety standards, and dietary guidelines. The ideal candidate is dependable, team-oriented, and passionate about serving others through exceptional hospitality.
Essential Duties Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus, recipes, portion guidelines, and dietary requirements.
- Ensure food is prepared and served in a timely, attractive, and appetizing manner.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen, food preparation areas, and equipment.
- Properly store, label, and rotate food items in accordance with food safety regulations.
- Assist with meal service, tray preparation, and special dietary requests as needed.
- Monitor food temperatures and complete required documentation.
- Work collaboratively with culinary team members and other departments to support resident satisfaction.
- Maintain inventory awareness and communicate supply needs to leadership.
Qualifications
- Previous cooking or food service experience preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 40 pounds throughout the shift.
- Must be dependable and able to maintain attendance requirements.
