Yehowa Medical Services (YMS), a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), is seeking a compassionate and highly skilled part-time Orthopedist to join our multi-disciplinary healthcare team. We provide high-quality medical and social services to individuals and families regardless of their social, economic, or ethnic backgrounds.
Salary & Employment Options
- Part-Time (W-2): $200 – $250 per hour
- Contracted (1099): $250 – $350 per hour (Day-rate and Call-block pricing options available)
- Schedule: 1 to 2 days per week (Day shift / Weekends available/ Monthly schedule available/ highly flexible)

Supervision Requirement
In accordance with California clinical practice standards and medical board regulations, the candidate must be open to serving as a Supervising Physician. If the candidate is not comfortable with this they MUST be able to see all patients on their own in a given schedule. Key requirements include:
- Mid-Level Oversight: Providing supervision and consultation for Physician Assistants (PAs) and Nurse Practitioners (NPs).
- Delegation of Services: Establishing and maintaining protocols that allow Mid-level providers to see and treat orthopedic patients under your guidance.
- Clinical Accountability: Remaining available via electronic communication or in person for consultation and review of complex musculoskeletal cases to ensure patient safety and quality of care.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Provide expert diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care for injuries and diseases of the musculoskeletal system, including bones, joints, ligaments, and tendons.
- Clinical Evaluations: Conduct physical exams, evaluate medical histories, and develop comprehensive treatment plans for acute and chronic conditions.
- Diagnostics: Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including X-rays, MRIs, and blood tests.
- Minor Procedures: Perform in-office procedures,
- Rehabilitation: Counsel patients and families on post-treatment care, nutrition, and physical therapy to regain movement and strength.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the primary care team and social services to provide coordinated care within the FQHC framework.
- Collaborate with other specialties such as orthopedics, podiatry, or cardiology when in office. Multiple specialties will be in this clinic space, especially if or when complex cases require multidisciplinary management.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and complete medical records using the clinic’s Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system. (Be open to EHR systems training)
- Educate patients on health, preventive care strategies, and treatment options; incorporate health coaching techniques to promote wellness.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing care standards within the FQHC setting.
Experience
- Proven experience in practice within hospital or outpatient settings; experience in an FQHC environment is preferred.
- Strong understanding of medical imaging techniques relevant to diagnosis.
- Experience performing dermatological procedures, including suturing
- Familiarity with medical coding (CPT/ICD) for dermatology services to ensure accurate billing practices.
- Knowledge of infection control practices and aseptic techniques essential for procedural safety.
- Ability to manage diverse patient populations with sensitivity and professionalism while providing comprehensive patient care.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
- Licensure: Current and valid medical license in the State of California.
- Certification: Board certification (or board eligibility) in Orthopedic/surgery.
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience as a practicing physician is preferred.
- Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills and proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR).
