Part-Time Server / FOH Coverage
We are looking for an experienced, dependable server to join our front-of-house team in a unique part-time role. This position includes two regular serving shifts per week, with the opportunity to earn significantly more by providing additional Front of House coverage when needed.
The ideal candidate for this position is someone looking for a consistent part-time serving schedule who also has enough flexibility in their schedule to pick up additional shifts throughout the year.
Schedule & Earnings
- Two regular serving shifts per week
- Expected earnings of approximately $380–$600 per week from regularly scheduled shifts
- Additional earning opportunities through coverage shifts
- Consistent daytime restaurant schedule with no evening shifts
Coverage Flexibility
Coverage flexibility is an important part of this position.
We have an established Front of House team, and throughout the year our employees need time away for vacations, appointments, travel, and other commitments. We are looking for someone who can help us maintain strong staffing when those situations arise.
There are two types of coverage we are looking for:
Planned Coverage
This will make up the majority of the additional coverage opportunities. When members of our team schedule vacations or other time off, we generally know about those needs weeks in advance.
We will communicate available coverage shifts as early as possible, giving you the opportunity to plan them into your schedule.
Depending on our staffing needs, you may occasionally be asked to cover a Front of House position other than serving. You will not be asked to cover Back of House positions.
Emergency Coverage
Restaurant life occasionally comes with unexpected call-outs and emergencies. We would love to find someone whose schedule sometimes allows them to pick up a shift on short notice.
This is not an on-call position. We do not expect you to be available every day or to rearrange your life whenever someone calls out.
However, applicants whose schedules provide some flexibility for occasional same-day coverage will be particularly well suited for this role.
Serving Responsibilities
- Provide friendly, attentive, and efficient service to every guest.
- Build genuine relationships with regular customers while creating a welcoming experience for first-time guests.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of the menu and daily specials.
- Work efficiently during busy breakfast and lunch service.
- Accurately enter orders and process guest payments.
- Communicate effectively with the kitchen and other Front of House employees.
- Maintain a clean and organized section.
- Complete opening, running, and closing side work.
- Work collaboratively with the rest of the team during high-volume service.

- Previous serving experience required.
- A schedule that allows for additional coverage beyond the two regularly scheduled shifts.

- Strong organization and ability to prioritize during busy service.
- Willingness to help the team by working in other Front of House positions when needed.
- Ability to remain on your feet for extended periods and regularly lift up to 40 pounds throughout the shift.
Who This Position Is Best For
This position is particularly well suited for an experienced server who wants the stability of two guaranteed serving shifts each week while maintaining enough flexibility to work additional shifts when opportunities arise.
You will know about most additional coverage needs well in advance, and picking up those shifts can substantially increase your weekly hours and earnings.
We're looking for someone who sees that flexibility as an opportunity: a reliable member of the team who can step in when additional hands are needed, while still maintaining a predictable regular schedule of their own.
