We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Front Office Insurance Specialist to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility using insurance portals and managed care systems
- Collect and update accurate medical records, ensuring confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations
- Assist patients with insurance questions, appointment scheduling, and billing inquiries in a friendly, professional manner
- Perform insurance coding tasks including CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding to ensure proper billing and reimbursement
- Manage medical office documentation, including medical records management and data entry into electronic health record systems
- Coordinate with healthcare providers to ensure accurate documentation of services rendered for proper insurance claims processing
- Conduct insurance verification procedures for medical and office services to prevent claim denials
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a medical office setting or dental office environment with familiarity in office operations
- Strong knowledge of managed care processes, medical terminology, and medical records management
- Experience with HIPAA compliance standards to protect patient privacy and confidentiality
- Skilled in CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, and general insurance coding practices
- Ability to handle insurance verification efficiently across multiple carriers and managed care plans
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, providers, and insurance representatives
- Prior experience working with medical billing software or electronic health record systems is preferred
