Major Job Functions & Responsibilities:
- Prepare and properly mix paint and solvents per manufacturer specifications
- Prepare and paint materials in accordance with defined SSPC specifications and job requirements
- Ensure proper cure time between coats as outlined per manufacturers specifications
- Organize and coordinate loading of outgoing deliveries with Shipping Coordinator
- Maintain accurate application records in compliance with third party inspection agency requirements
- Responsible for quality inspection of own workmanship, addressing significant discrepancies, and for discussing marginal discrepancies with supervisor as needed to determine if corrective action is necessary
- Maintain organized, clean and safe workspace, including paint locker, paint tools and equipment
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and Technical Paint Data Sheets a plus
- Able to safely operate airless spay unit to achieve a proper aesthetic finish
- Ability to use measuring devices such as tape measure with 1/16-inch graduations
- Ability to safely use a variety of hand and power tools including a wood chop saw
- Ability to safely operate shop overhead crane system as well as yard lifting equipment such as Combi-Lift, fixed mast forklift, Straddle Carrier
- Ability to safely load and stack materials onto trailers and/or truck flatbeds
- Good communication skills, able to work with others in a fast-paced production focused environment
- Comfortable with using technology in a paperless environment, including the use of administrative and production related software programs
- Quality and safety minded
Position Qualification Minimums (Education, Training, Experience)
· High school education or equivalent
· State Issued driver’s license in good standing
· Prior experience or equivalent training in spray painting techniques for airless spay systems and application of primer paints
· One or more years of material handling experience or equivalent training, as well as experience in proper use of yard equipment or equivalent training
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
· Able to spend duration of shift standing, walking, performing repetitive actions that include frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, reaching as well as extended periods of time using hand tools
· Possess manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work
· Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines and inspect parts produced
· Able to lift, carry, push and/or pull up to 50 pounds
· Able to wear respirator and/or mask for filtering air as necessary
· Able to work in enclosed and well-ventilated environment with often extreme hot or cold temperature

Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
