Position Overview:
The school based BCBA plays a significant roll in student success by performing assessments, developing individualized behavior plans, working with the IEP team, monitor student progress, and manage a small caseload of RBTs.
In general, our clients may [or may not] have diagnoses of Autism Spectrum Disorders, Developmentally Delayed, Oppositional Defiance Disorder have diagnosed but need assistance with expected classroom behavior. Services are provided for students who need behavioral guidance, behavioral intervention, and skills to help with a successful classroom experience such as classroom readiness and assistance communicating needs.
Position Expectations:
Monitor student progress of caseloads of up to 10 students in a local school system.
Conduct FBA and other assessements.
Develop Behavior plans.
Collaborate with school staff, therapists, parents and caregivers in a positive manner to do what is most ethical and helpful for the client.
Provide direct observation during school hours.
Supervise and provide training to BT and RBTs.
Maintain up to date documentation, progress and session notes.
Be incompliance with the BACB.
Be kind, courteous and caring to children and staff.
Be available during school hours for the child assigned to.
Be on time everyday and use clock-in/out system.
Have reliable transportation to/in Decatur, Al.
Communicate effectively with the student’s teachers and Teacher of Record for behavioral needs.
Position Qualifications:
- Must have active BCBA license and liability insurance.
- Valid driver’s license
- Current certification in First Aide/CPR preferred.
- Experience working with individuals with special needs.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with basic sign language preferred.
- Familiarity with computer software (i.e., Microsoft Office and Google Drive)
- Consent to and pass background check.
Physical Requirements:
We strive to remain hands off and avoid restraining methods, however, due to the uncertain and spontaneous nature of maladaptive behavior in this field each case is child/situation specific and may require some form of physical intervention. The following are general requirements:
· Ability to lift 50lbs (incase of emergencies or life threatening situations)
· Ability to move from seated position on ground to standing position quickly
· Ability to run (in-case of elopement)
· Must be agile and have ability to restrain client if necessary.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $40.00 - $60.00 per hour
