Duties
- Create beautiful, intricate braids, twists, and protective styles tailored to each client’s preferences and hair type
- Assist clients with hair extensions, eyelash extensions, and hair threading services to enhance their overall look
- Maintain high standards of sanitation and cleanliness throughout the salon, ensuring all tools and workstations are properly sanitized
- Use salon software such as MINDBODY to schedule appointments, manage client records, and process retail sales efficiently
- Provide exceptional customer service by listening carefully to client needs, offering professional advice on hair care, styling options, and retail products
- Upsell retail items including hair care products, styling tools, and accessories to maximize client satisfaction and store sales
- Support store management with front desk duties such as greeting clients, managing appointments, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere
- Mentor junior team members by sharing techniques in hair styling, color theory, and sanitation practices to foster a collaborative environment
Qualifications
- Proven experience in hair braiding techniques along with knowledge of hair extensions, coloring, and styling methods
- Certification in Cosmetology or Barbering from an accredited institution; additional training in specialized services like eyelash extensions or nail care is a plus
- Strong understanding of sanitation standards and safety protocols within a salon setting
- Familiarity with salon software such as MINDBODY for appointment booking and retail management
- Excellent communication skills to connect effectively with clients and team members
- Ability to perform retail math calculations for upselling opportunities confidently
- Knowledge of store management principles including front desk operations and inventory control
- Skills in makeup application, hair threading, straight razor use, and other grooming techniques are advantageous
