Job Summary
We are seeking an experience Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as a Sedation/Intra-procedure Nurse in a fast-paced outpatient procedural setting. This role is ideal for an RN who is confident administering and monitoring procedural sedation and has experience assisting during minimally invasive procedures, including venograms and lower extremity arteriogram interventions.
The ideal candidate is calm under pressure, detail-oriented, and highly skilled in patient monitoring throughout all phases of sedation and procedural care.
Responsibilities
- Administer and monitor sedation to patients undergoing medical procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Assess patient medical histories to identify potential risks and contraindications for sedation.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop individualized sedation plans for patients.
- Monitor vital signs, oxygen levels, and other indicators during sedation to promptly address any complications.
- Educate patients and their families on pre-sedation and post-sedation care instructions.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of sedation procedures and patient responses.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and guidelines related to sedation practices.
- Participate in continuous education to stay updated on sedation techniques, medications, and best practices.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide optimal patient care and outcomes.
- PACU experience preferred.
Preferred Background:
- PACU, ICU, ER, Interventional Radiology, Cath Lab, or Ambulatory Surgery experience.
- Familiarity with sedation medications and reversal agents.
- Experience working in a physician-led outpatient procedural setting.
- Sedation administration experience required.
- 2+years RN experience required.
Pay: $43.00 - $45.00 per hour
