Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Industrial Sewing Machine Operator to join our production team manufacturing firefighting and protective gear. This role is responsible for sewing and assembling high-performance protective garments using industrial sewing equipment, ensuring products meet strict quality, durability, and safety standards.
The ideal candidate has experience with industrial sewing machines, pays close attention to detail, and understands the importance of precision when producing life-saving equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate industrial sewing machines (e.g., single-needle, double-needle, bar tack, serger, or similar)
- Sew, assemble, and construct firefighting and protective gear according to specifications, patterns, and work orders
- Work with heavy-duty and technical materials designed for protective apparel
- Inspect finished products to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with standards
- Maintain consistent production output while meeting quality and safety requirements
- Perform basic machine setup, adjustments, and routine maintenance
- Identify and report defects, material issues, or equipment concerns
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Required Qualifications
- Experience operating industrial sewing machines in a manufacturing or production environment
- Ability to follow written instructions, patterns, and production specifications
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining accuracy
- Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 25-30 lbs as needed
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience sewing heavy-duty, technical, or protective materials
- Experience in manufacturing firefighting gear, protective apparel, or similar products
- Familiarity with quality control standards in manufacturing
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
