Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced arborist who combines technical knowledge with strong communication and relationship-building skills. This position is responsible for generating and managing tree care and Plant Health Care sales while helping expand our PHC division, strengthen client relationships, and support the continued growth of Dave's Tree Service.
This is a leadership opportunity for someone who wants to help grow a professional tree care company and expand a developing Plant Health Care program.
This position is supported by an established reputation, strong referral network, and consistent lead flow throughout Moore County.
Responsibilities
- Meet with residential and commercial clients to assess tree and shrub care needs.
- Diagnose tree health, insect, disease, soil, cultural, and structural issues and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Prepare, present, and close estimates for tree care and Plant Health Care services.
- Develop customized Plant Health Care programs and long-term maintenance plans.
- Educate clients on proper tree care, risk mitigation, tree preservation, and preventative treatments.
- Identify opportunities for pruning, removals, cabling and bracing, plant health care, and long-term tree preservation.
- Proactively identify additional opportunities to improve client properties and provide long-term tree care solutions.
- Build and maintain long-term client relationships that generate repeat business and referrals.
- Generate repeat business through proactive communication and follow-up.
- Manage projects from initial consultation through completion while maintaining excellent customer communication.
- Oversee projects from sale through completion to ensure client expectations are met and work is performed to company standards.
- Coordinate with production crews to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards.
- Assist in developing Plant Health Care programs, service offerings, sales processes, and long-term growth strategies.
- Maintain accurate client records, proposals, notes, and follow-up activities using company software and systems.
- Support company growth through professionalism, technical expertise, and exceptional customer service.
Qualifications
- ISA Certified Arborist preferred.
- Strong knowledge of tree biology, pruning, risk assessment, and arboricultural best practices.
- Experience diagnosing insect, disease, soil, and cultural issues affecting trees and shrubs.
- Plant Health Care experience strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to build trust, develop client relationships, and close sales opportunities.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required.
- Ability to work outdoors and perform property evaluations in varying weather conditions.
- TCIA, PHC, pesticide applicator, or related certifications are a plus.
Compensation
- Competitive base salary plus uncapped performance-based commission.
- Compensation is designed to reward performance, with high-performing team members having the opportunity to earn well into six figures.
